I used Startwrite to make custom journals for my kids these last two years. At the copy dept of an office supply store, I use their comb binding puncher for free to punch a whole ream of paper. At home I customize the pages for each grade level with half pages in their font size and left the top blank for illustrations. I print these on the comb bound paper. Then, I let each child customize a cover using Microsoft Publisher. Finally we assemble them with white binding combs. They love them. We write in them several times a week and even add Science fair projects, art work, etc. It turned out to be a great recap of their year. Love this!
