I remember the book "The Little House" (which is a Caldecott Medal winner from 1943) from grade school, and have read it to my children. I also remember reading "A Wrinkle in Time" (which is a Newberry Medal winner from 1963) as a class during the 8th grade. I enjoyed both of these stories in school.

Overall, I remember more of the honorable mention titles rather than the actual medal winners.

Thank you for sharing some of your Caldecott and Newberry Medal favorites. There are definitely plenty of medal winners that my children and I will be able to read and share together.
