Epi Kardia Christian Literature-based Homeschool Curriculum Using Charlotte Mason Methods

Overview and Descriptions of our Homeschooling Curriculum

Our innovative Christian homeschooling curriculum uses living books and Charlotte Mason methods to teach history, science, language arts and fine arts.

We teach history chronologically, divided into nine historical periods. Within each historical period, we integrate the study of science, language arts and fine arts. Integrating subjects in this manner allows school to be more relevent, more memorable and more enjoyable for both teacher and student!

Our Christian homeschool curriculum methodology, especially successful with younger students, uniquely applies the study of history from Creation to Modern each year.

Beginning again every year allows students to:

  • move to fresh material more quickly
  • stay more engaged
  • recall information learned more easily, as it hasn't been years since it was introduced
  • allows a layering effect to take place, making it easier to connect new knowledge to already-learned information, which according to experts, is the way we learn

The flow of history and connections between historical events become clear as history is studied in this relevant manner!

Reading exciting, well-written literature about characters to whom they can relate and emulate draws students into history in a way that textbooks cannot!

We offer two curriculum options...plus our high school courses...

Christian literature based homeschooling curriculum

1. Complete Programs -- our most flexible, cost-effective option, Complete Programs can be used for three years each following our methodology. Using unit overviews, history, science and music/fine arts booklists divided by topic, along with the suggested projects and activities, we provide the tools enabling you to write your own lesson plans.

Another option perfect for the less structured homeschooler is to choose books and activities and journal what was completed, rather than to make and follow detailed plans.

Our Complete Programs are best for homeschooling Moms (and Dads) who prefer:

  • creating their own lesson plans
  • want the freedom to take advantage of "rabbit trails" as they occur, rather than be tied to a particular schedule
  • less structure

Christian literature-based curriculum for 3rd Grade Daily Lesson Plans

2. Daily Lesson Plans -- our most teacher-friendly option, our Daily Lesson Plans are perfect for the mom who wants to provide a perfectly planned, high-quality, biblically-based education for her children using whole, living books. For history, science, language arts and fine arts, all daily lessons are already-planned-in-advance. Our Daily Lesson Plans include weekly goals and objectives for each subject and daily lessons planned integrating the studies of history, science (K-8), language arts and projects.

Our Daily Lesson Plans are best for homeschooling Moms (and Dads) who:

  • are just beginning to homeschool and desire a structured curriculum
  • want to concentrate on teaching rather than taking time to do the planning, too
  • would rather "tweak" a plan to fit rather than needing to "create" the plan
  • have just had a baby or are teaching students of several ages
  • have children who prefer to work independently
  • want the confidence that a comprehensive, easy to follow curriculum provides
  •

"I'm still using Epi Kardia and LOVING it! I added one more student this year to the mix, A.! She and I do a more traditional Epi Kardia approach, whereas J. and G. know the drill and are on something like auto pilot with the program. Thank you for your dedication to writing such a fine curriculum.  My family have enjoyed it and been blessed by it time after time.  I still share it with everyone who will listen!"

--Jennifer

"E. is in 4th grade right now and C. is in 1st grade.  I love being able to use Epi Kardia with both of them!  (And we'll be adding L. in kindergarten next year.)  What a blessing this curriculum has been and continues to be for us!  Thanks Dana and Beth!"

--Julie

"I have 4 children and we are using all 4 levels of the program. Just another reason why I love this program! It is flexible enought for me to do just what want with it! :-) "

 --Pam

"The kids and I just finished playing a '20th Century Trivia' board game that A. made after I saw it in the [Preparatory Complete Program] Epi Kardia curriculum. What a great idea! He had to come up with the idea, use history & geography to come up with the categories and then the questions, make the board, paint the board and then make up the rules. It was a great 2-week project!"

I am very excited about where the Lord will take us this year in our homeschooling! I am telling everyone I know about your amazing customer service.
May God Truly Bless you in all you do!
Thanks,

--Tracy

"I am using the American Literature [high school] curriculum for a co-op starting in August and am very pleased with it so far.  I have laid out weekly lesson plans for the group so that they are reading along at the same pace and know which assignments will be due when.  It is so clearly laid out and easy to use.  I love the notes on grading/assessing the assignments and the rubrics you have provided.  I want to order a few more things real soon, so really appreciate the coupon!!
Thanks!"

--Erica

"I am grateful and appreciative. [You have provided] customer service of the highest degree - thanks so much, and thanks for the updates on future products. You are most kind."
